We offer a variety of payment methods to suit families. We accept credit card and bank transfer. We also offer a direct debit service through Payrix whereby families can pay off their invoice throughout the term. Details regarding this service can be found in the Parent Handbook and our Terms of Service in the registration portal. Invoices are due 14 days from the date of creation and we offer an early payment discount for payments made within the first 7 days. Please note we do not accept any incremental payments outside of Payrix.
  • Can I stay in the room with my child?
We encourage students to attend classes by themselves although parents are welcome to wait in the waiting room. In our many years of teaching experience, we have found that students get the most out of classes and build relationships with staff and fellow students when they are able to fully engage in the class. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us to discuss
  • Do students have to participate in performances?
Although we encourage all students to participate in performances, they are not compulsory. We do a variety of performances throughout the year with different environments and audience sizes so some students may find they would like to participate in the smaller performances and work their way up to larger concerts. Students can still participate in classes relating to a performance however may need to sit out for a brief period of time in the class for run-throughs.
  • Do students need a uniform?
We only require one piece of branded uniform per student however we do require dance shoes to be worn appropriate to each style that the student is studying. Students must wear either dance wear or active wear to classes. No streetwear, home clothes or print t-shirts/school uniforms are to be worn during class times. For more information, please see the Uniform Guide section of the Parent Handbook
  • What do students need to bring to class?
We ask that students bring a water bottle, dance bag, uniform and dance shoes to class and any extra items that the student may require such as snacks, hair ties and pins, medications, etc.
  • What happens if I need to un-enrol my child halfway through a term?
Enrolments are for the entirety of the term however for Terms 1, 2 and 3 we can accept un-enrolment due to extenuating circumstances. If you are moving away during the middle of a term, we ask for notice to be given at the start of that term and you will only be charged for the weeks up to the moving date. Due to Term 4 hosting our main concert for the year, we unfortunately cannot accept un-enrolment during this term and the account will still be liable to be paid even if a student does not attend. Classes continue after concert and students that have participated in concert are expected to attend classes. More in-depth explanation can be found in the Terms of Service in the Parent Handbook
  • What age can students enrol?
We accept enrolments from age 7 through to adults. Although we had previously accepted enrolments at younger ages, we have found over our many years of teaching that students get the most out of private lessons once they have attended school for a few years and are able to maintain concentration for the full 30 minutes.
  • How much are lessons?
Private lessons at the Moranbah studio at $40 for a weekly 30 minute lesson. Lessons that require travel are $45 for a weekly 30 minute lesson

  • Can students have a rotating or fortnightly time?
Unfortunately we are not able to offer rotating times or fortnightly lessons. Once a time has been chosen, the student has that spot unless they need to change times or days. We require as much notice as possible for a time/day change and we cannot always guarantee that a new spot will be available however we endeavour to do our best to find suitable alternatives.

  • Do students need to own their instrument?
We understand that music is an expensive activity and buying an instrument may not always be feasible for families straight away. We recommend that students studying guitar and piano/keyboard purchase an instrument within the first term of learning as students that have an instrument to practice on generally see more progression sooner, stay interested and committed to learning. Our teachers are happy to provide advice on which instrument is best suited to the student's needs and that fit within your budget. We do not require drum students to own a drum kit as these are more expensive than most instruments however we do ask that students purchase drum sticks and a practice pad. Students are able to use instruments in the studio for their lessons until they have their own. Music technology students will be required to supply their own laptop during the course.

  • What do students need to bring to their lesson?
We ask that students always bring their sheet music and a water bottle. Guitar students should bring picks and a tuner (if owned) and drum students should bring drum sticks.

Enrolments are for the entirety of the term however we can only accept un-enrolment due to extenuating circumstances. If you are moving away during the middle of a term, we ask for notice to be given at the start of that term if possible so that we can offer that spot to another student. If we are unable to find a student to fill that time, you will still be liable to pay for the lessons until the spot is filled or the current term has finished.
